We had our first ever willow weaving workshops during the Easter holidays, courtesy of willow guru Nicole. We built obelisks with willow cut from the garden and volunteers’ gardens and learnt how to build these structures that are perfet for supporting sweetpeas and beans. We’re hoping to do more of this kind of activity overContinueContinue reading “Willow workshop”

February
We had a very productive, if chilly month in February as well as some very strong winds to contend with. Felix helped us with cuttings and potting on, Irene prepared the ground for seed sowing with some mulch and Nicole worked on willow obelisks to support the sweet peas that will be planted in March.ContinueContinue reading “February”
Thank you Yann and Jenny
For our lovely firebowl!
Little Green Fingers is back!
Please join us on Friday Feb 11th for Little Green Fingers gardening club for pre-schoolers. We’ll be checking on the worms and bug hotel and we’ve got a brand new children’s raised planting bed for vegetable growing. We need your help with worm food and pine cones this week so we can keep the wormsContinueContinue reading “Little Green Fingers is back!”
January
It was a cold but busy start to the year at the garden. We’ve had homemade soup (thanks Vee) and a fire to keep us warm, (that’s Steve sawing up wood for the brazier). We harvested salads, swedes, cavolo nero, spinach and chard to sell at the gate; and spent a lot of time fillingContinueContinue reading “January”
Our first day gardening of the year.
A very damp Saturday morning didn’t put us off our chores today. We sorted out the shelter, picked salad, tidied around the polytunnel and Abi and Jules planted tulip bulbs. Oh, and we also drank tea and ate cake (thanks Jo!). Thanks everyone for their help. We’ll be opening regularly in 2022 on the secondContinueContinue reading “Our first day gardening of the year.”
Happy 2022! New opening hours.
We’ll be opening at 10.30am this Saturday 8th January for some winter maintenance and a sort out. And that will become a monthly fixture. Our regular Thursday sessions will resume on January 13th. All volunteers welcome.

Leave your car at home and walk (and pop in and see us)! View the trail of art by Whitstable schoolchildren, along Tankerton and Whitstable High Streets, OxfordContinueContinue reading “Walking Day, Saturday 18th Sept 10am -2pm”
Little Green Fingers – update June 9th
Apologies, but we are having to cancel this Friday’s ‘Little Green Fingers’ group again due to illness. The group is still in its infancy with just a few volunteers who are qualified and available to run the sessions. Our goal is to build this group of volunteers so that there is always backup to ensureContinueContinue reading “Little Green Fingers – update June 9th”
