It was a cold but busy start to the year at the garden. We’ve had homemade soup (thanks Vee) and a fire to keep us warm, (that’s Steve sawing up wood for the brazier). We harvested salads, swedes, cavolo nero, spinach and chard to sell at the gate; and spent a lot of time filling the raised beds with unwanted soil from a neigbours garden. Cath and Audrey made access paths on one of the raised beds whiles others of us got cracking with bagging up leaves so they would rot down for leaf mould compost.
